About Us

In 1994 a retired couple, Russ and Margaret Lyon, purchased 23 acres of hay meadow just east of Jacksonville, Oregon.

Beginning as Daisy Creek "Farm", the Lyons planted two acres of grapes, baled hay and built a barn. After twelve years of blood, sweat, and tears and now known as Daisy Creek Vineyard, more than one-half of its acreage is producing six varieties of wine grapes.

About the Vineyard

Comparable in latitude to the Rhone Valley of Southeastern France, Daisy Creek Vineyard sits at altitude 1350 asl and exhibits an average of 2918 degree days, a measure of time that temperatures in the vineyard fall within the optimal growing temperatures for grapes. These factors correlate with the Rhone Valley, in particular, the Northern Rhone and the famous Côte Rotie or "Roasted Slope" of that region which has for centuries cultivated Syrah and Viognier grapes and made from them some of the best red and white wines in the world. Given these similarities, we have chosen these varieties as our focal plantings, as well.

Our Tasting Room

On Labor Day, 2008, we opened a tasting room in Central Point, Oregon in partnership with Don Mixon and Bret Gilmore, owners of Madrone Mountain Vineyard. The tasting room is located at 245A North Front St. between The Rogue Creamery cheese shop and Lillie Belle Chocolate Factory.

The Tasting Room opens at noon, 7 days a week.
